Facilitation of The Work of Byron Katie

Upon extensively exploring various methods to facilitate inner peace, increased creativity, and self-understanding, Daniel recognized The Work of Byron Katie to be the simplest, fastest, and most effective approach.

This self-inquiry soon became and remains Daniel’s consistent and primary practice.

The Work of Byron Katie is a way to identify and question thoughts that cause suffering or stress.

For many people all over the world, the regular practice of this Work has resulted in the end of personal suffering, and the beginning of a life defined by gratitude, creativity, peace, fearlessness, presence, connection, and generosity.

Daniel specifically offers:

As a Facilitator, Daniel educates you on this process and holds a comfortable space for you to investigate your unquestioned stressful beliefs, using the four questions and turnaround of The Work. The goal is for you to navigate your way back to your own deeper truths and discover for yourself new alternatives of thinking and living. Daniel supports you by keeping you focused on Inquiry (especially when the mind wanders), and by asking targeted sub-questions that can shed additional light on the origins of what's hurting you, so you can address your problems from a clear perspective.

This Self-Inquiry is a tool you can use for the rest of your life and working with a facilitator is a good way to begin a consistent personal practice.

Testimonials:

“Life changing and Transformational!...my children thank you, my husband thanks you and I am forever grateful!! After attending one of Dan’s workshops, I knew that inquiry was a practice I needed to explore. Having collected shelves of self-help books for more than twenty years, I was ready for something to work. I formed a checklist of stressful thoughts that had clouded my thinking for years and worked through them by answering four simple questions. I was able to find the clarity and balance I longed for. And the most rewarding gift of all is the confidence to welcome whatever curveball comes your way…even those in the form of tweenagers and prepubescence.”

-Gaye Nicholson, Rumson

"Returning to New Jersey after graduating from Byron Katie’s 9 day School, the universe blessed me with meeting Dan Abbott’s kind genuine self. The Work is an ongoing practice of self-love and inquiry. When stressful thoughts are turned around in inquiry
the answers bring you back into the present moment, your own reality. Discovering the most important job in your life
is having a loving relationship with yourself it becomes clear that what you’ve been looking for has been there the whole time. Through doing the work you slowly become awake to it. Dan is bringing this amazing tool to our community that is a life awakening/changing experience. Doing inquiry with Dan is comfortable, peaceful and loving. Dan is insightfully gifted, an understander of reality, and a true believer of accepting and loving what is. All you need is an open mind and a loving heart to do The Work, and luckily we have Dan Abbott to facilitate us is the process."
-Michele Fulton, a self-lover

"Daniel’s ability to weave the elements of yoga with Byron Katie’s recipe for inquiry is flawless. His nonjudgmental, down-to-earth approach allowed participants to share The Work openly and with ease. What a nice group of people, too!…"

"Daniel Abbott is a confident and skilled facilitator who captivated even the most rowdy high school students with his creative presentation of The Work. Daniel's visual and interactive materials enabled students to really connect with their own self-limiting beliefs in a non-threatening manner, allowing kids to open up, and explore the beginnings of their own Work. I would recommend Daniel as a presenter for this method to anyone looking to build a sense of trust, unity, balance and peace within those around them, and most of all within themselves"
-Amanda Patterson, Teacher, Red Bank Regional High School

"Coming into contact with The Work through Dan changed my life dramatically.  Within weeks of working with him and just communicating the work together in regular conversation, addictions I'd held on to for over three years fell away.  I had tried this before but the difference with The Work and with Dan as a facilitator was that the war to give them up was over.  Once I was no longer at war with myself over it, they let go of me; not with a struggle, but with truth, openness and surrender.  I was completely unprepared for it and I could never fathom my life again without this powerful Work. Dan is amazing and I am forever grateful in ways no words can do justice."
=Julie, Jivamukti Yoga instructor

"Daniel Abbott is like a breath of fresh air in a stale room. The magnitude of his depth for human understanding is evident in all that he does; and he brings himself fully into whatever he takes part.  A highly competent facilitator of Byron Katie's Work, Dan makes you feel both comfortable and comforted as he helps you look inside yourself for answers. He is gentle in his guidance and empathetic with your struggles as he aids you along the path to be able to find your own Inner Peace."
-Lisa A, Travel Industry

"Daniel is a phenomenal facilitator; he listens, laughs, and is there to assist in the process when needed.  There was no ego involved, no “I am better than you”, which says a lot about the work Daniel has done and continues to do in his own life. He comes from a place of humble truth and experience and creates a warm and comfortable environment for you to share your not-so-perfect self!  Do I recommend The Work, workshops on The Work, and Daniel as a facilitator of the Work?  ABSOLUTELY!!!”

-Carrie Holmes, Director of The Jersey Shore Wellness Network

Testimonials:

"Working with Dan my daughter has experienced an understanding of math in a way that she was not able to do before.  Dan's abiity to communicate and connect with his students provides an opening for letting go of the fear and dislike of the work and an opportunity to embrace it.  My daughter's grades in math have skyrocketed since she began to work with Dan and he was able to find areas in which she needed instruction in the basics that had been overlooked before.  My daughter now has much more confidence and actually enjoys the work."
-Stacey Kasselman, Red Bank, NJ

"Dan  has made math a class I like to go to now. I feel confident to raise my hand in class and I have done well on the tests that I have taken since he began working with me. Dan was also very chill which made me comfortable to ask him questions. I think Dan is the best math tutor."

Lilly, Rumson, NJ

"My college counselor recommended I contact Dan Abbott for assistance on improving my SAT test scores. He worked on time management and strategy with me, and took the time to go over the question types I had difficulty answering, until I was able to comfortably solve them. Dan's teaching style is straightforward and thorough, and that made my entire SAT preparation process easier.  When the time came to take the test I was comfortably prepared, confident and able to focus. With Dan's help I was able to raise my SAT mathematics score 80 points, but the confidence I gained working with him undoubtedly influenced my scores outside of the math sections.  I enjoyed getting to know Dan Abbott, on top of working with him to raise my test scores.  He is a genuinely good guy, and I highly recommend him for hire."

Sam Wilt, Spring Lake, NJ

"Daniel Abbott is a patient and understanding tutor with exceptional interpersonal skills - he related extremely well to my teenage son & daughter in assisting them with their respective math needs, Geometry and SAT Math review.  I would highly recommend him for outside classroom support or test review and preparation."
 Liz Moss, Shrewsbury, NJ

"Dan Abbott is one of the best math teachers I have had to date. He was always on time for our sessions and always asked how I was doing and what I had been up to, almost like I was catching up with an old friend every Tuesday afternoon. His unique way of explaining the problem and getting me to understand the processes kept me focused and able to remember how to solve the problems. I looked forward to our hour long sessions each week because I knew with each session I was continuing to add to my knowledge and understanding of the math required for the college program I will be entering in the Spring. Dan never came down on me for not knowing how to work out some problems and instead he took me through step by step and made sure I was right there with him. Unlike a monotone tutor, Dan had his own way of relating the material to something I could relate to in my own life. I would recommend Dan to just about anyone who needs help with math in any way and is not looking for some boring math teacher or an expensive tutor that may or may not be beneficial to your child’s needs."
Chris Roth,
Little Silver, NJ

"I have known Dan for many years as one of my favorite Yoga Teachers. He has been a good friend and has inspired me to thing originally and deeply. When my son was struggling with Geometry, I asked Dan to tutor him and it has worked out great!! My son enjoys his time with Dan, and has told me that he feels more comfortable in Math Class , and has a much better grasp of the subject. Thanks Dan!"

Additional Testimonials:

"Just to let you know, there has been unexpected benefits to training with you. Normally in golf, particularly at my age, the more muscle-bound you are, the less distance you get( or else you are way off line). By virtue of the core training that you've been giving me, I find that I am more flexible, able to turn better in my golf swing, and the result over the last two years without changing any of my equipment, has been the addition of about 5-
10 yards on all of my shots(10 yards with the dri ves, 5 with the irons). In addition, I find that I am able to get out of the rough a little easier, due to my added upper body strength and flexibility."
